Prepare yourself to feel scammer. Doctors enter medicine with the hope of making patients feel better. However, when delivering bad news, that's not what happens. No matter how people feel before I give them bad news, afterward they always feel worse. If I don't recognize this as normal, that working hard to make people feel good about bad news is not only counterproductive to the grieving process but potentially deleterious for our doctor-patient relationship, in the long run I'll add to my patients' pain rather than diminish it.
Before stepping foot medicals fake into a hospital you should always attempt to naturally pass your kidney stones with an ample supply of water intake. I always drink half my body weight in ounces of water per day. In other words, if you weigh 200 lbs., you should be drinking at least 100 ounces of water per day. This will make you healthier and could help you pass your kidney stone(s).
With medicals bad and fake the news out there it can't be taken back. The only thing you CAN do, though, is maintain a level of dignity for "Joe" by assuring him that the discussion is just between the two of you.
"Protect this house." At Under Armour, this tag-line is used to talk about protecting the brand. I am using this line to talk about protecting "your house"-your mindset! You can filter what you listen to, what you read, whom you talk to and how you spend your time. "Protect your house" by reading great books, listening to great programs, avoiding negative people, and being very selective in how you spend your time and with whom you spend it.
In a relationship, time will make things fester, but in the corporate world where trust has been destroyed and investors' actions are hinging on the next press conference, time is the only sure-fire strategy that will help put the events behind you.
When you consider doing any sort of business online, look over this list and see if the appeal sounds like one or more of these scams. If so, check it out carefully before sending money.
